Show Meeting Times via a QR Code

One Page for the Notice Board

The public schedule page is an anonymous page showing the current week plus a two-week preview. It is meant for a QR code on the bulletin board or another controlled congregation notice area, so visitors can see meeting times and field service meeting points without signing in. It is a different thing from the personal calendar subscription: the public page is one congregation-wide link, while the subscription is a private feed for a single signed-in user.

What Visitors See

The page shows the current week with navigation across the next two weeks, plus the published midweek and weekend meetings. Drafts stay private. Field service meetings appear with time and location, and with a map link when coordinates are recorded for the meeting point. Cancelled meetings are shown as cancelled, not hidden. Weeks run Monday to Sunday in the congregation’s time zone, and the page renders in the congregation language, not in the visitor’s browser language.

Program Details Are Off on Purpose

By default the page shows no names. Turn on the program details only if the congregation wants the published program to appear there. The items are then grouped into the same meeting sections visitors recognise from the app, and can include themes, shortened assignment names, technical duties, field service conductors, and linked tasks. Names are shortened to first name plus surname initial, for example Maria S. Contact details, internal notes, user IDs, and assignments outside the public week plan stay off the page. Foreign-language group meetings need their own opt-in; the program details alone do not publish them.

When the page is enabled for the first time, CongPlan creates the public link and shows its QR code. The link can be copied again later and the QR code reprinted. A very old link from an earlier version may no longer be displayable in full; renew that one once, and both actions stay available from then on.

Turning the page off stops access but does not rotate the link: a QR code that was already printed works again as soon as the page is active. When an old code has to stop working immediately because it was shared too widely, renew the link. That creates a new one, kills the old link right away, and gives you a fresh QR code to print.

Check Before You Print

Leave the program details off unless names and assignments on the public page are actually intended. Print the QR code only for the notice area it belongs to. Renew the link if a code was shared too widely or printed with the wrong settings. And look at the page again after schedule changes, especially when meeting times, field service meeting points, or program details were updated.
