Circuit Overseer's Service Week in the App
Recorded Once, the Whole Week Adjusted
The visit of the circuit overseer changes the program of the entire week. In CongPlan you record it once as a service week, and the whole calendar week is rebuilt from that entry instead of every planner editing the affected parts by hand. The adjusted program stays connected to the record: you can correct the data later and regenerate the week, and deleting the visit puts the previous program back.
The Wizard, in Four Steps
The wizard asks for the visit week, the circuit overseer’s data, notes, and a review. Nothing is saved before the last step. For the date it does not matter which weekday you click: CongPlan snaps to the Monday of that calendar week and shows the resulting Monday-to-Sunday range. Only the name is required; home congregation and notes are optional. If a visit already exists for that week, the wizard names the circuit overseer recorded there, links to the existing entry, and will not let you continue.
What Changes in the Program
In Our Christian Life and Ministry Meeting, a 30-minute service talk by the circuit overseer replaces the Congregation Bible Study with its conductor and reader parts, and auxiliary classes are switched off for the whole meeting. In the Weekend Meeting the Watchtower Study is shortened to 30 minutes, the reader part is removed, the conductor keeps their assignment, and a 30-minute closing talk by the circuit overseer is added at the end. Every meeting for field service inside the chosen window is linked to the visit; who conducts them is still yours to enter.
CongPlan also creates two additional meetings: one for the pioneers of 60 minutes and one for the elders of 90 minutes, both on a default evening slot. Both are explicitly marked as placeholders. Check the times and move them to the arranged ones.
Regenerate, Edit, Delete
Regenerating the week offers two ways out. Keeping manual edits rebuilds only the untouched generated rows and is the safe default. Overwriting everything resets the week to the template; the confirmation dialog states how many manual edits are affected first, and the step cannot be undone. If you changed the service week or the link window, save straight away with the option that regenerates in the same step.
Who May Do This
Every signed-in user can see the visit. Creating, editing, and deleting it is for whoever may edit the circuit overseer visit. Generating the week additionally needs edit access to meetings and to meetings for field service, because the run writes exactly those rows. Without it the visit still saves, but the generation step fails.
