AI Assistant for Congregation Planning
Use CongPlan in a conversation
CongPlan offers an open MCP interface (Model Context Protocol). With it, you can connect an AI assistant to your congregation and ask planning questions in plain language or dictate entries – instead of clicking through menus. The assistant reads and writes the same data as the app.
What a request might look like
“Who still has no assignment in next month’s Life and Ministry Meeting?”
“Put Brother Miller down as the speaker for the public talk on July 14.”
“Create a task: check the microphones for the weekend meeting on Saturday.”
“Show me all Field Service Meetings this week with leader and meeting point.”
The assistant proposes the action; it is saved through the same paths as a manual entry – including eligibility and conflict checks.
Permissions always apply
The AI can only do what you are allowed to do. An administrator first has to enable the MCP interface for the congregation and grant you access. After that, you connect your assistant via OAuth 2.1: enter the endpoint, log in through CongPlan, done – no token needed. Only for clients without OAuth support do you create a personal access token in your account settings with exactly the scopes you need (read or write, per area) and an expiry of at most 90 days. Every action runs through the same permission and congregation checks as the app and is recorded in the audit log. Tokens can be revoked at any time.
Open and standards-based
Because CongPlan builds on the open Model Context Protocol, the connection works with any MCP-capable assistant – no proprietary lock-in. The interface uses OAuth 2.1 for sign-in, so access stays properly authorized and traceable.
